Jaime Castillo, guitar and voice teacher

Jaime was born and raised in McAllen, Texas and was connected musically in both his middle school and high school choral programs.  Upon graduation from McAllen High School in 1990, he was accepted to the University of Texas at Austin College of Music and began his formal musical training.  In 1995, he received his Bachelor of Music specializing in vocal and choral education grades K-12. In addition to teaching private guitar and voice for 13 years in the studio, Jaime, certified Texas music educator, has been teaching elementary music for 18 years in the Round rock, Austin, and Bastrop Independent School Districts and has received the honor of 2008 - 2009 Teacher of the Year at the Wells Branch Elementary campus in Round Rock I.S.D.  Through the years, Jaime has remained active performing and serving in local Round Rock and Austin churches providing special musical performances and leadership.  Presently, Jaime is serving in his local Round Rock church worship band and leads the youth worship band. In his spare time, Jaime enjoys composing, running, traveling and spending time with his family.

Valerie Castillo, piano teacher

Valerie was born in Charlotte, North Carolina and raised in various U.S. cities eventually residing in TexasShe was a member of both middle and high school choral programs in addition to private piano instruction grades 1-12.  Upon high school graduation from Greater Atlanta Christian School, in 1985, Valerie was accepted to Harding University College of Music and focused studies in piano performance for two years.  In 1995, completing her undergraduate education, Valerie received her degree from the University of Texas at Austin, summa cum laude, Bachelors of Science in Applied Learning and Development with a specialization in Music and Texas Teaching Certification, grades K-8.  While at U.T. Austin, Valerie was a member of the Dean's Honor Roll List in the College of Education, a life member of the national honor societies of Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Beta Kappa, and nominee for Outstanding Teacher of the Year.  In addition to 13 years teaching private piano lessons in the studio, Valerie taught elementary grades 1, 4, 5 and 6 in the Round Rock, Austin, and Bastrop Independent School Districts.  In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, gardening, live music, travel, and time with her family.
